I have been practicing yoga for roughly four years now and must admit that I am a little addicted. But it wasn’t love at first sight!

My first introduction to yoga was a very chilled out class, a little too sedate for my tastes. So when Chris, my partner, started coming to Yoga Warrior and begged me to do the same, I had no interest. I needed something that was going to make me work, challenge me, allow me to fail, and then possibly give me a little inner peace.

Much to my surprise, after giving in and attending just one of Clara’s classes I found exactly what I wanted and I was hooked! What started as a once a week class has turned into an integral part of my life, something that changes and challenges me every time I am on my mat. The idea that I spend a couple days a week, pretty much alone with myself, has gone from being scary and noisy, to adventurous and sometimes still a little noisy. No matter how crazy a class can sometimes get, I love the idea that the breath gently holds hands with the body and the mind to move to a place where we can do anything.

The next step for me has been to take inspiration from all the Yoga Warrior teachers and pursue teaching, which I have discovered is just as much fun as practicing! It is rare when we find something that works us so physically but at the same time allows love and healing to take place.

My teaching goals? A little bit of fun with maybe just a bit of challenge!
