New Year 2007, Yoga Warrior was invited by Halo Gaia, the holisitic tourism company to again lead the yoga on a Yoga Holiday to Paradise. Tofino attracts an international crowd who are drawn to this rustic laid back stretch of the Mozambique coastline. The retreat drew mostly South Africans but others came from as far afield as the US. We were hosted by Turtle Cove which is situated on the brow of Tofino with a lovely cooling breeze. Turtle Cove has a popular surf lounge which is always buzzin, as word is out it serves the best food in town. First prize though is the stunning yoga lounge, which like the Taj Mahal was a love token from Turtle Cove's owner to his soon to be bride. The Yoga Lounge has the most wonderful ambience and design and with the balmy heat in Mozambique, this is a perfect venue for yoga. What follows is a collection of pictures from our 10 day yoga holiday.
“I was recently lucky enough to holiday at Turtle Cove in Mozambique for December 2006 whilst Clara was there doing a yoga retreat. Being relatively new to the practice but very passionate about yoga I was very keen to learn under a different teacher and find out more about other styles, at home I only do Ashtanga Yoga so was a bit sceptical and thought Hatha Vinyasa may not be strenuous enough. I soon found out how wrong I was.
Clara taught me so much during the one week with her about my poses and my form, and having done a few of my ‘regular’ classes since being back in Cape Town I can speak from experience when I say that I can now feel, and not only see, the true benefits from practising yoga the correct way.
I look forward to spending as many years as physically possible learning more about yoga and progressing along my journey with yoga and hope that somewhere along that journey I get to benefit again from people with the same wisdom and insight as Clara.”

"It's hard to decide what the best part of this holiday was. The sun, the gentle Indian Ocean waters, the food, the balmy, non-stifling humidity, the seclusion of Tofino beach just around the corner from vibrant Tofo, the improptu jam sessions on the beach, the freely available coconuts - I could go on. Someone once said that wherever you go, there you are. Well with the daily yoga sessions, you greet yourself with a smile everyday and are the best company to yourself. Also these good vibrations are flowing through everyone else who is on the yoga holiday with you, so there are friends aplenty to be made. This holiday is definitely in the top five of the best things I've ever done for myself."
