"Peace within makes beauty without" English Proverb

"This was holistic healthy heaven - invigorating early morning yoga (most unusual movements for me at 8h30 on a Saturday morning) surrounded by the tranquility of the bush, burst only by early morning happy birdsong, so peaceful, it felt like everything was in perfect harmony.  The beautiful energy continued throughout the day with  pampering treatments - heady steam baths, followed by vigorous body scrubbing and then every inch of your body massaged by friendly smiling beautiful people. And then Danielle's delicious cuisine, typically French, light and tasty, served with endless jugs of fruity rum punch, green tea heartily infused with fresh mint and ending the day with a (why not?) kir royale. Altogether a very indulgent day."

In February & October 2006, April & October 2007 and February 2008, as featured in Longevity & Style Magazines, Yoga Warrior hosted Yoga Spa Days at Ukuthula Bush Spa.  Ukuthula is Zulu for peace and the spa was voted Best New Spa in the Northern Region for 2005. The spa is located in the Game Reserve of the Leeuwkloof Valley, east of Pretoria, one hour's drive from Joburg.

The days begin at 8.30am with an invigorating sunrise yoga class by the pool for a good hour. Thereafter follows a day of pampering. Danielle, the French owner, is a gourmet chef so beginning with breakfast, sumptuous food is served all day including homemade breads, jams, quiches and salads, not forgetting delicious desserts. All day complimentary fresh juices, wine, beer, rum punch are available...this is a decadent day!

After breakfast the treatments begin and include a foot massage with creme hydratante, an Indian head massage, a full body massage with hot stones under a Gazebo surrounded by natural bush and the best part, in my mind, a "Turkish Bath" scrub.  The treatments are spread out over the whole day.

Lunch is served French style, socialising all together and for the rest of the day you can swim in the pool, or just chill out in the shade casting your eye over the breathtaking valley views. The day will end with a yoga treat: restorative yoga for 30 minutes. We will bid farewell at 4pm over a glass of champagne while the Ukuthula team serenade us with their groovy African beats..

Ukuthula Bush Spa is an intimate spa, only accepting 10 guests at a time. Born out of a love for Africa fused with the French spirit of its owners. An original and unique blend of the best Africa and Europe has to offer!
