Passion & Potential: Mother & Daughter Yoga
Mother's Day - May 9th @ 10.30am (90 minutes)
R150 per couple
Daughters: Aged 10-17
"A daughter is a mother’s gender partner, her closest ally in the family confederacy, an extension of herself. And mothers are their daughters’ role model, their biological and emotional road map, the arbiter of all their relationships." Victoria Secunda
No relationship is quite as primal as the one between a mother and her daughter. Nourish and celebrate your sacred mother-daughter bond this coming Mother's Day, Sunday May 9th at 10.30am at Yoga Warrior's Rosebank Studio. Practising yoga with your daughter can build trust, sensitivity to one another’s needs and encourage an intimacy between one another. It is quality time together AND can be a whole lot of fun!!
Yoga is about union: the connection between mind, body and spirit. Yoga nourishes our bodies , deepens our connection to spirit and develops inner peace; it can be a beautiful language of love and spirit between you and your daughter.
The workshop will be taught by Yoga Warrior trained teacher, Helene Kangisser, who is Mother to four children including two daughters, Carmela & Galya. As well as teaching yoga, Helene teaches Hebrew at King David School.
Yoga enjoys a huge advantage over other forms of exercise because anyone can do it! Each person progresses at his or her own level in a non-competitive environment. During the workshop we will explore sun salutations, partner poses, breath awareness and relaxation.
The benefits of yoga for mother and daughter are many....
-builds strength and flexibility.
-improves body awareness and co-ordination.
-improves breathing techniques, which supports good health.
-instills a sense of self-esteem and confidence.
-encourages creative expression and imagination.
-enhances body image and self acceptance.
Celebrate Mother's Day differently this year with your precious daughter!
