Anri is a farm girl who grew up in Limpopo and studied Sustainable Development in Stellenbosch and Belgium before making her way to the big city of Johannesburg. A good friend introduced her to Ashtanga Yoga in the final year of her undergraduate in Stellenbosch. It was not a love-at-first-sight kind of encounter, but she stuck with it and finally made friends with the practice when she spent seven months working as a volunteer in Auroville in India. She also spent a month in Mysore in India attending Ashtanga classes at Pavy Shala with Mr Sheshadri. Upon returning to South Africa, Anri started attending Vinyasa classes at Yoga Warrior and also completed her 200hr teacher training with Clara and Melanie in 2013. She has been teaching at Yoga Warrior ever since.

Anri teaches creative flows from the heart with a focus on breath. She encourages her students to keep their practice light, yet to not shy away from more challenging postures. You can expect to learn, breath, move, laugh, and become still in her class. Her intention is to create a space in which students feel comfortable to fiercely and bravely reach beyond what they already know.
